Getting financed when your credit is not perfect
Jul 22, 2026
A credit score is one input. Lenders working in this space care at least as much about how long you have been at your job, how long you have been at your address, and whether your income is documentable.
The two things that sink applications most often are not low scores. They are a payment that is too large for the income on the application, and a down payment too small to cover the gap between what the vehicle is worth and what is being financed.
That is why the most useful thing you can do before applying is decide what you can genuinely pay each month, and be honest with us about it. A deal structured around a number you cannot sustain helps nobody.
Come in with proof of income, proof of address and a realistic down payment, and we can usually find something workable. Come in with none of it and even a good score will slow things down.
